Granny (рус. Бабушка) – персонаж-антагонист серии игр Granny.

Описание

Внешне напоминает зомби из-за цвета кожи, белых глаз без зрачков и открытого окровавленного рта, хотя она может быть и человеком, но это не объясняет того, почему её глаза могут стать красными, если игрок возьмет Тедди. Голова почти лысая, часть седых волос клочками осталась на голове. Носит длинную сорочку без рукавов, в руках всегда держит окровавленную биту, с которой она никогда не расстаётся.

История

О персонаже мало что известно. Granny — это первая игра, где она появилась. В Доме Бабушки можно встретить призрак Слендрины, а также в тайной комнате убитую мать Слендрины. Возможно, что Бабушка убила всю семью Слендрины после Slendrina X. Хотя возможно она убила только Мать Слендрины, так как судя по дневнику Слендрины из The Child of Slendrina, её мать накормила семью отравленным обедом, после которого Отец побледнел и ему стало плохо, а у Слендрины началось головокружение и тошнота. Бабушка узнала об этом и убила её.

В играх

Granny

Бабушка держит игрока в своем доме. Она постоянно ходит по дому и ищет игрока, попутно ставя для него капканы. Если она найдет его, то сразу побежит к нему и попытается оглушить битой. В случае успеха, она кладет его в постель в комнате игрока и уходит. Пока игрок находится без сознания, Бабушка кладёт на своё место Тедди (если находится не на своём месте). Когда игрок просыпается, она снова начинает искать его, чтобы оглушить. Так продолжается до пятого дня (за исключением до шестого). Если Бабушка оглушит его на пятый день, то когда игрок очнется от обморока она убьет его (либо съест живьем, либо отрубит голову на гильотине , либо протаранет автомобилем).

Бабушка может ходить по всему дому, кроме мест, для прохода которые доступны только игроку. Также бабушка при поисках не заглядывает в шкафы и под кроватями, однако если она увидела, как игрок прячется в одно из этих мест, она найдёт и оглушит его. Также она может убить вас незамедлительно, если у вас в руках есть Тедди или изредка, если вы держите книгу. Она не заходит и в Секретное место, соединяющее Подвал (Granny) и спальню, но только при условии, что оттуда не раздастся шум.

Если в Бабушку выстрелить дротиками из арбалета, она отключится на время от 15 секунд до 2 минут (зависит от сложности игры). Также от 15 секунд до 2 минут 30 секунд действие идет от выстрела ружьем. А время смерти бабушки в бане от 15 секунд до 2 минут.

Если игрок будет держать Тедди или убьёт одного из её питомцев из дробовика, то будет слышен звук сердцебиения и у бабки появятся красные глаза, она всегда будет знать местоположение игрока, пока тот не бросит мишку или не усыпит бабку .Предположительно из Слендрины 2D мы знаем что ей было ~50 к 1900 году. Вероятно события происходят в 1960-1990 году, т.к у бабушки есть машина. Известно что она бабушка Слендрины, т.к они находятся в трёх играх вместе. На то что она дочь указывает что на кухне 4 стула – для нее, деда, Носферату и Слендерины, а также Секретная комната.

Granny is the titular antagonist of Granny, Granny: Chapter Two, Granny 3, and a secondary antagonist of The Twins. She is one of the enemies in these games, and sometimes an Easter Egg in other games by DVloper.

She is known for kidnapping people into her houses, and forcing them to play a game where they have only five days to find a way out of there, and where losing means death.

Description

Granny’s origin, and what she actually is, never gets mentioned in-game. Facts that Granny’s hazy eyes glow in the darkness and differ colors, that she has a relationship with the ghost of Slendrina, and that she can revive herself after being killed and more tie her to the supernatural. But the appearance of Grandpa in Granny: Chapter Two implies that she once was a human.

It is possible that Granny may be or has once been a cannibal, as shown by the blood splatters belonging to the Previous Victim scattered throughout her house, and her jumpscare animation in the Basement Game Over scene, where she lunges at the player with her mouth wide open.

Granny is represented as an ugly, demented old woman. She has a long, dirty face, some gray hair at the back of her head, glowing white eyes surrounded with a bloody rim, bloody yellowed teeth, and a dirty gray nightgown. She also holds a bloody baseball bat which she shows no hesitation towards using as a weapon.

Behavior

When a new in-game day starts, Granny will first appear in one of her spawning locations, spending a few seconds there before moving:

• Basement, on the bloodstain
• Bedroom 2, in the corner between the table and the chest of drawers
• Living Room, at the wall against the Dining Room
• Secret Area Middle Floor, between the two stairways

Granny begins her movement by slowly wandering around the house, until she is made aware of the player being awake, which is caused by either:

• Environmental hazards or dropping items, which makes her immediately move to the exact position of the last interaction with them. At the spot, she will look around for a few seconds, and after not noticing the player, she will start wandering again.
• Her seeing the player, which makes her enter the chasing mode, where her only focus is finding the quickest way towards them. This will last until she can’t do so anymore after the player is hidden for enough time, after which she will start wandering again, or after catching them.
• Enraging her by holding Teddy or by killing a pet, which makes her constantly chase after the player and turn her eyes pure red. Granny’s rage mode lasts until the player lets go of Teddy, knocks her out, or gets to a next in-game day in case they killed one of Granny’s pets.

Each time Granny leaves a spot after unsuccessfully going for the player, she will always say a phrase and lay a bear trap the next time she stops moving.

Granny catches the player once they are in a close proximity to her (even through some thin walls, which is a glitch.) Once the player is caught by Granny, they will be forced to face her while screaming, and shortly getting knocked out by her baseball bat. This will force the player to move onto the next in-game day, waking up back in the Starting Bedroom.

If Granny spots the player going: under a bed, inside of a cabinet, a chest, or the car, she will note this and catch them even so. In most cases, by getting the player out of their hiding spot, and attacking them with the bat as usual, but in the case of the beds, she will attack them by dropping to the ground and lunging at them while making a loud screeching noise.

Granny’s range of eyesight, which triggers her chase mode once seeing the player depends on a few factors:

• The chosen difficulty – the lower the game difficulty is, the lower her base eyesight range will be.
• Crouching – while the player crouches, her eyesight range is significantly lower.
• Crawl spaces – while the player is behind one of them, Granny is almost completely blind to the player’s presence. When Granny sees the player get into one of them, she’ll wait at the front for them to come out, once this happens, Granny will rush to the other end where the player recently was.

Defense Against Granny

When hit with a Tranquilizer Dart, locked in the active Sauna for 15 seconds, run over by the Car or frozen by the Freeze Trap Granny will be knocked out for a period of time.

This lasts for 2 minutes, 1 minute, 30 seconds or 15 seconds depending on the difficulty.

If Granny is shot with the Shotgun or is caught in a Gasoline Can explosion, she will be knocked out for 30 extra seconds with the exception of Extreme mode, which will grant 15 extra seconds.

Granny’s moving and animation speeds depend on the happening events and the chosen difficulty, for the ease of comparison, the player’s maximum speed is 6.0.

• DVloper, the developer of the game, confirmed that Granny is voiced by his wife.
• On Day 1, Granny usually waits in her spawn spots for a while, and on the rest of the days, she usually leaves immediately.
• If you’re lucky, sometimes even if Granny sees you hide under a bed or inside the car, she will not knock you out. Instead, she will just stand there and walk away after a few moments. This seems to happen at complete random, probably meaning it’s either a bug or oversight in her AI.
  • Also, Granny sometimes won’t knock the Player out even if she had already seen the Player in front of her. A video of this can be seen here.
  • However, this seems to very rarely happen now ever since Version 1.6, suggesting that the developer may have patched it up a bit.
• Granny sometimes has trouble with opening and closing doors. Sometimes, it shuts before she can go inside, leading her to open it again. This triggers a collision with the door, sending her flying backwards.
  • This only happens with the door between the Dining Room and the Backyard and the door between the Baby Room and Jail, as those are the only doors which automatically close and lock when she is not using them.
• Granny has physical collision with her own Bear Traps and Bell Alarms, but she can’t trigger either of them.
  • When moving into Bear Traps, she will usually flip them over, especially if she lays them down when running.
  • Although Granny doesn’t make noise when walking over a Bell Alarm, she can still be seen slightly levitating off the ground when walking over them.
• In Version 1.0, Granny had a few minor differences in her animations.
  • Her walking animation was noticeably more awkward, as her head bobbed back and forth as she walked.
  • When she hit players with her bat, she would lower her arm back to her side very very slowly. This was sped up in future versions.
• Sometimes when making a noise to try and attract Granny to a very far away location, she will lose interest before she arrives at her destination. This is especially common on Easy mode due to her slow speed, meaning the Player will often have to drop an item multiple times to get her attention. She also has an annoying habit of sometimes opening a door of a room where noise was made but not investigating it, which can be dangerous for the Player.
• Sometimes, if Granny spots the Player hides in a Cabinet, Chest or the Car, they will be forced to face her, and she will scream, resulting a jump-scare but she doesn’t hit them with her bloody baseball bat. A video of this can be seen here
• There is a bug that may occasionally occur in which Granny sees the Player gets locked inside the Jail, she will always laugh before walking away. However, the laughing sound effects are played at their original speed without being sped up, which makes them much slower and deeper. A video of this can be seen here.
• When you escaped through the Cellar Pipe on V1.8, you can see that Granny is crouching, watching the Player escaping.
  • It is confirmed that Granny can actually crouch. During gameplay, she didn’t crouch maybe just to play fair with the Player.
• As of now, you can stand on Granny’s head by throwing the Grey Vase on the first floor (make sure she’s at the Study or the Living Room so this will work) and then fall through the Stair holes of the Upper Floor to land on her head.
